About
LifeLine Johannesburg is dedicated to emotional wellness and provides a "non-judgmental ear" to anyone in distress. They focus on the emotional and mental recovery of survivors, offering a safe space to process trauma without being told what to do.
What They Offer Survivors
24/7 Telephone Counselling Their primary service is a free, confidential 24-hour crisis line. This is a vital "first port of call" for survivors in immediate emotional distress who need someone to listen and help them stabilize.
Face-to-Face Counselling LifeLine offers individual, one-on-one counselling sessions for survivors of sexual abuse, domestic violence, and other forms of trauma. These sessions are conducted by trained counsellors who focus on empathy and "active listening."
Victim Empowerment Programme (VEP) This specific program is designed to support survivors of crime and violence. It includes trauma debriefing immediately after an incident and ongoing psychosocial support to help survivors regain their sense of power and control.
Support Group Referrals If you need long-term healing in a community of people who have had similar experiences, LifeLine can refer you to specialized support groups.
Corporate and Employee Support They offer wellness programs for workplaces, ensuring that survivors are supported even within their professional environments.
